About The Author

Every unforgettable story starts with a spark of real life. For author Jane Anderson, that spark comes from decades of muddy boots, early mornings, and a deep, lifelong passion for the natural world.

A Lifetime Dedicated to Stories and Learning

Long before she became a beloved children’s book author, Jane spent twenty-nine years fostering a love of reading in thousands of growing minds as a dedicated school librarian. Her deep understanding of early childhood literacy and what truly keeps a child engaged stems from these decades of hands-on educational experience.

Jane holds academic degrees from both Clarion State Teachers College and Duquesne University, blending a rich educational foundation with a brilliant gift for authentic, heart-centered storytelling.

From the Heart of the Farm to the Pages of Your Book

Jane’s stories are not manufactured fables; they are lived experiences. Hailing from Pennsylvania, Jane, her husband of many years, and their two daughters, Christina and Melissa, have spent a lifetime immersed in the beautiful, chaotic, and deeply rewarding world of animal care.

Together, the Anderson family raised and nurtured an incredible roster of animals, including:

Quarter Horses & Cattle: Learning the daily rhythms, dedication, and resilience required by traditional farm life.

Exotic Birds: Witnessing firsthand the vibrant, hilarious, and unpredictable personalities of unique feathered friends.

A Highly Recommended Boarding Kennel: Operating a trusted local haven that allowed Jane to observe the profound loyalty, comforting instincts, and distinct behaviors of countless dogs.

Turning Real Memories Into Shared Family Legacy

Every single narrative Jane creates is directly inspired by the real encounters, triumphs, and humorous mishaps she experienced alongside her family and the animals they loved.

By taking these authentic moments from her own Pennsylvania farm and translating them into vibrant children’s literature, Jane offers your family more than just a quick bedtime read. She provides an open invitation to share in a real family legacy of empathy, responsibility, and unconditional love. When you open a book by Jane Anderson, you are stepping directly onto the farm with her, ready for an adventure your children will want to revisit night after night.
